West Lincoln welcomes new Director of Growth and Sustainability

The Township of West Lincoln is pleased to announce that, after a comprehensive recruitment process, Gerrit Boerema has accepted the position of Director of Growth and Sustainability.

As Director of Growth and Sustainability, Boerema oversees all aspects of growth and development and supports the sustainability of West Lincoln’s agricultural lands.

Boerema brings with him more than 10 years of experience in planning in local government and two years in management. He began his career with the Township through a co-op Junior Planner position in 2012. He returned as a Senior Planner in 2016 and was made Manager of Planning in 2024. He has also demonstrated his dedication to the Township by accepting the responsibility of Acting Director of Planning in 2024.

Boerema holds a Masters of Environmental Science, Planning, from the University of Waterloo, a Bachelor of Science in Geography and a NextGen Municipal Leadership Certificate from Brock University.
