lifesaver hanging on pool enclosure

In the Township of West Lincoln, a pool permit is required if you are building a pool that can hold more than 2 feet (610 mm) of water.

Location of pool

Zoning regulations can influence the location and shape of your pool. Before you think about location, you need to review the Township's Zoning By-law to find any restrictions.

Fences and gates

All swimming pools must be surrounded by an enclosure at least 1500 mm (4'11) high measured from ground level. Enclosures may include fences, gates, entrances or temporary enclosures.

For detailed requirements, please review our Swimming Pool By-law.  Fees are updated yearly and can be found in our Consolidated fee bylaw See page 4.

How do I apply?

To apply for a permit, download and complete the Swimming Pool Permit Application below. Along with the application, you will need to submit a Site Plan detailing the type of construction, height/type of fence, location of pool and pool pump. Also, include dimensions to property lines. If you are submitting for an in-ground pool a lot grading plan is required to be submitted if the property is less than 1 acre.
