Nomination period now open for West Lincoln Ward 3 By-election

At its August 12 Council (including all Committees) meeting, Township Council passed the by-law to conduct a by-election. Nominations for West Lincoln’s Ward 3 by-election are now open and will be accepted until 2 p.m. on Friday, September 20.

Any eligible person interested in running for Ward 3 Councillor must file nomination papers along with a filing fee with the Township Clerk prior to receiving any campaign contributions and/or expending any funds on a campaign. Nomination papers must be accompanied by at least 25 declarations of endorsement from eligible voters in West Lincoln.

Nomination papers and endorsement of nomination forms are available at www.westlincoln.ca/by-election. Anyone without access to a computer or printer may pick up the forms at Township Administration, 318 Canborough St., Smithville.

Potential candidates are asked to contact the Clerk’s office at 905-957-3346 or clerk@westlincoln.ca to book an appointment prior to filing their nomination.
