For Immediate Release: June 10, 2022
The Township of West Lincoln is thrilled to announce that after a two-year pandemic-induced hiatus, the annual Canada Day celebration is returning in 2022. This year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever, headlined by Eric Ethridge.
This festival will take over the Leisureplex Township Park, at 2543 South Grimsby Road 6, in Smithville, from 3 to 10:30 p.m. on Friday, July 1. Attractions will include food vendors, market and artist vendors, a juggling and hoop fun zone by Hoop You, pony rides by Pony Paradise, interactive animal presentations by Little Ray’s Reptiles, balloon entertainment by Halaloo, and an 18+ Cornhole tournament.
The main stage will feature a magic show by Magic Mel, a fire show by Hoop You, and of course, our headlining act: Eric Ethridge.
Ethridge is a self-made singer songwriter making his way across North America, connecting with audiences and living out his wildest dreams. His EP, which features his breakout single debut, “If You Met Me First,” hit Number 1 on his country’s overall iTunes chart and was streamed more than 3 million times in the first 6 weeks. The lead track earned a coveted spot on SiriusXM’s tastemaker program “On the Horizon” for 24 consecutive weeks. Find more information about Eric Ethridge at ericethridge.com.
West Lincoln’s Canada Day Festival will be capped off with a spectacular fireworks display by Garden City Display Fireworks.
Parking is very limited on site, so guests are encouraged to skip the drive and take the bus. A free shuttle service will be provided, with pick-up/drop-off points at the West Lincoln Community Centre, the Village Square Plaza and the Greek Hall.

“After having to cancel this well-loved event for two years in a row, it is only fitting that the triumphant return of our Canada Day festival is going to be the most spectacular celebration West Lincoln has ever seen. I think I speak for everyone when I say I am so excited to gather together as a community to commemorate our nation’s birthday.”
