Celebrate Family Day with West Lincoln

For Immediate Release: February 5, 2024

The Township of West Lincoln is bringing fun for the whole family at the annual Family Day event on Monday, February 19.

The public is invited to the West Lincoln Community Centre, at 177 West St., in Smithville, for a whole day of festivities, kicking off with the West Lincoln Firefighters’ Pancake Breakfast, from 8:30 to 11 a.m. (or until all pancakes are eaten). Donations in support of the West Lincoln Firefighters' Association will be accepted (cash only).

The Lincoln Leapers will put on an interactive performance at 10:30 a.m., Creative Bug will host drop-in arts and crafts from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and West Niagara Minor Hockey will put on a Superskills session at 1:30 p.m. Attendees will also be able to enjoy airbrush tattoos, henna artists, a caricature artist, and just outside of the facility, the 905 Game Trailer.

Filling out the day’s festivities are a series of Family Open Gym sessions, free Public Skating, and the finale: a sledge hockey game between West Lincoln Firefighters and ParaSport Ontario.

The Dog Got It concession stand will be open throughout the event so families can purchase a delicious meal between activities.

In tandem with the Township’s Family Day event, the West Lincoln Public Library is hosting an afternoon of family fun at the Smithville Library Branch, located inside the West Lincoln Community Centre. Drop in between 1 and 5 p.m. for MakerSpace demonstrations, Oculus and Switch games, trivia contests and so much more!
