Update # 21 - West Lincoln Response to COVID-19 – Splash Pad Open

West Lincoln, Ont. – June 24, 2020

West Lincoln will be opening the Splash Pad at the West Lincoln Community Centre on Friday June 26th.

Staff have been working hard to ensure all appropriate health and safety guidelines and regulations, as laid out by the Province and Niagara Region Public Health, are adhered to in order to allow for the safe operation and use of the Splash Pad.

The Splash Pad will be open 9am to 7pm for public use. In order to meet Public Health guidelines and to ensure the health and safety of those using the Splash Pad, the following safety measures are being implemented:

  • A Township Staff member will be onsite, ensuring rules and regulations are adhered to at all times and encouraging appropriate physical distancing.
  • Space will be limited to 16 users at a time and the Splash Pad will be closed for 30 minutes 2 times daily for sanitizing.
  • Splash Pad may be closed due to weather conditions.
  • Signage will be posted around the splash pad area, reminding guests to maintain physical distance at all times
  • On site public washrooms will be open effective June 26th.

Staff are hopeful that families will take advantage of this reopening as a great way to cool off and have some fun in the sun this summer.

With the extension of the Provincial Emergency Order, all other Township Facilities will be closed to the public until July 16th.

Mayor Bylsma stated,

“Our staff, in cooperation with Public Health, continue to roll toward former service levels where permitted.  Our ability to move to Stage 2 in the recovery plan is indicative of the patience and diligence of our residents and we hope this trend continues.”
