West Lincoln Seeks Input for Leisureplex Playground Replacement

For immediate release: June 4, 2024

The Township of West Lincoln has launched a survey, asking community members to have their say about features they would like included in the new Leisureplex Playground.

Replacing the playground, located within the Leisureplex Township Park at 2543 South Grimsby Road 6, in Smithville, was approved as a capital project in 2024 with a total budget of $160,000.

The current playground was originally erected approximately 25 years ago. It includes a combined junior and senior play structure with monkey bars, a pull-up bar, a climbing area, a tic-tac-toe game panel, a tube slide, a double slide, a bridge connection, an animal and car stand-alone feature and swing sets.

Complete the online survey before 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, to provide feedback into the replacement of the Leisureplex Playground. Paper surveys are also available at the Township Administration Building, the West Lincoln Community Centre and all three West Lincoln Public Library branches. Visit the Leisureplex Playground Replacement page to learn more and to find the online survey.

Public engagement will be followed by a Request for Proposal and selection process. Public notice will go out in the fall once the tender is awarded. The Leisureplex Playground replacement is expected to be installed in the Spring/Summer of 2025.
