Calling all young artists in West Lincoln! The Township’s Mayor’s Youth Advisory Committee (MYAC) is holding its first annual holiday card contest. Winning artwork will be used for the Township’s 2024 corporate holiday card.

The contest is open to all West Lincoln youth. Submissions are limited to one drawing per participant. Participants are encouraged to get creative and draw anything that represents what the holiday season looks like for them. Bonus points if the drawing represents the West Lincoln community. Drawings must be appropriate.

Drawings should be submitted with the participant’s name, school name, category (Elementary or Secondary), and phone number written on the back. Drawings can be submitted in person at participating schools, in the drop box located at the Township Administration Building, at 318 Canborough Street, in Smithville, or they can be scanned and emailed as a document (not a photo of the drawing) to jthrower@westlincoln.ca.

Contest submissions are due by end of day September 30. Drawings will be reviewed and winning artwork will be selected by MYAC members at their October meeting.

Quote:

“For several months, our MYAC members have been planning and working toward the goal of running a successful contest that will encourage more young people to become involved in their community. MYAC determined the contest rules, set the timeline and will review submissions. This is their contest and we are delighted to support these dedicated, enthusiastic and community-minded youth. They represent our future.”
