The Township of West Lincoln utilizes paid on call firefighters (formerly known as volunteers) to provide fire protection services.  Paid on call firefighters carry pagers and when they are notified of a call, they respond if they are able to.  Paid on call firefighters are required to respond to a variety of emergency situations at any time of the day or night.  In addition to emergency calls, paid on call firefighters must commit to attending regular weekly training sessions. Being a paid on call firefighter is a significant commitment.  It requires a willingness to help others and to contribute to maintaining a safe community. West Lincoln Fire and Emergency Services maintains an applicant list for the position of paid on call firefighter at Station 1 (Smithville) and Station 2 (Caistor Centre).  West Lincoln residents who are interested in becoming paid on call firefighters, and who are at least 18 years of age, are encouraged to submit an application and resume in person at the Township Office, 318 Canborough Street, or via email to:
