Land Acknowledgement  

The Township of West Lincoln, being part of Niagara Region is situated on treaty land. This land is steeped in the rich history of the First Nations such as the Hatiwendaronk (Hat-i-wen-DA-ronk), the Haudenosaunee (Hoe-den-no-SHOWee), and the Anishinaabe (Ah-nish-ih-NAH-bey), including the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. There are many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit people from across Turtle Island that live and work in Niagara today. The Township of West Lincoln, as part of the Regional Municipality of Niagara, stands with all Indigenous people, past and present, in promoting the wise stewardship of the lands on which we live.

Canada Day Celebration

The Township of West Lincoln is hosting a spectacular Canada Day event, featuring fun activities for the whole family, headlined by Practically Hip, Canada’s number one Hip tribute, and capped off with a fireworks display by Garden City Display Fireworks, Inc. at 10 p.m. sharp.

Free Shuttle Service

Parking is very limited on site. Skip the drive and take the free shuttle! Pick-up/drop-off points:

  • West Lincoln Community Centre (177 West St., Smithville)

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can I bring my dog?

Yes. The Township Leisureplex Park is a dog friendly area, however, dogs must remain on a leash at all times and all dog excrement must be bagged and disposed of properly.

2. Is this a liquor licensed event?

No. Alcohol will not be sold or available on the premises. Attendees and participants are also not permitted to bring their own alcohol, as per the Township Parks By-Law (link to bylaw).

3. Is accessible parking available on site?

On site parking is very limited, however, Staff do reserve accessible parking spaces, yes. For all other attendees, we highly encourage you to take advantage of the free shuttle service.

4. If I stay for the full fireworks display, will I miss the last shuttle back to my car?

No. The shuttle will continue running until everybody has been returned to their pick-up location. Nobody will be left stranded.

The Canada Day event features a special market. Join us between 3 and 7 p.m. to peruse the fresh produce, delicious food, and unique creations of the fabulous local vendors below.
