There were a significant number of important changes to the Municipal Elections Act which were enacted for the 2018 Municipal Election. Please click here for highlights of the changes.
Nomination period for candidates opened on May 1, 2018 and will close at 2:00 pm on July 27, 2018. All Candidates will be required to complete Form 1 (Nomination Paper). Candidates for Mayor, Ward Councillor and Regional Councillor will be required to obtain at least 25 endorsement signatures which must be done using Form 2 (Endorsement of Nomination). The registration period for Third Party Advertisers also opened on May 1, 2018 and closes on October 19, 2018. If you plan to advertise for a candidate and/or a “yes” or “no” referendum question, you will need to register as a Third Party Advertiser. Please be advised that there has been significant ward boundary changes which take effect for the 2018 Municipal Election, please click on the Ward Boundary tile below to access a map of the entire Township as well as individual maps for each ward to determine which ward you will be voting in for the upcoming Municipal Election.
